Baptist Insurance Services is a national ministry of Australian Baptist Ministries and operates as a delegated body of the National Council.
We support Baptist churches, ministries, schools, care providers, camps and other Christian organisations across Australia with trusted risk protection, insurance advice, claims support, education and risk management resources.

Drawing on the experience of the BIS Board and team, together with the expertise of our insurance and reinsurance brokers and market partners, Baptist Insurance Services seeks to provide broad, sustainable and competitively priced risk protection for the Australian Baptist community and other Christian organisations.
Protection arranged through BIS may include discretionary protection provided by the Baptist Mutual, insurance policies issued by insurers, and reinsurance arrangements that support the financial capacity of the Mutual. These arrangements may involve Australian and international insurance and reinsurance markets, including markets based in the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions.
Baptist Insurance Services Ltd ACN 602 535 651 (“Baptist Insurance Services”) holds Australian Financial Services Licence No. 514857. Under this licence, Baptist Insurance Services is authorised to provide general financial product advice and deal in general insurance and risk protection products. Baptist Insurance Services also manages and administers Baptist Mutual and its Discretionary Mutual Fund.
The protection provided through Baptist Mutual is discretionary and is not an insurance policy. Any insurance policies forming part of the broader protection program are issued by the relevant insurer and are subject to their applicable terms, conditions, limits and exclusions. Reinsurance arrangements supporting the Baptist Mutual are entered into for the benefit and financial protection of the Mutual and do not create a direct contractual relationship between a constituent and a reinsurer.
Relevant protection documents, including insurance policy wordings and the Baptist Mutual Protection Disclosure Statement, are maintained by Baptist Insurance Services and are available to constituents upon request. Our team is also available to assist constituents in understanding the nature and scope of their protection. Certificates of Currency or other appropriate evidence of protection can be provided where applicable.
Through this structure, Baptist Insurance Services helps protect the people, property, ministries and activities of Australian Baptist and other Christian organisations while seeking to ensure that as much funding as possible remains available for their mission and service.
